Poly Hockey – The RAVE

Requirements

Athletes with an up-to-date athlete application and medical form on file with Special Olympics Minnesota are eligible to participate. These forms need to be updated every year.

Poly Hockey Season

The 2025-26 season has started and registration is closed.

Practices

Poly Hockey, also known as Floor Hockey, is played on the gym floor. Practices for the 2025-26 season are on held on Wednesday evenings, 6:00 – 7:30 pm at Valley Middle School, Southview Elementary School, and Westview Elementary School, all located in Apple Valley.

Important: Athletes need to provide their own helmet and plastic hockey stick. Please check with the head coach BEFORE purchasing equipment to get information on the type of helmet and hockey stick needed. Sticks will be available for purchase at the registration meeting.

Events

RAVE currently has four poly hockey teams which are organized by ability level.

Competition

Regional Competition: January 24-25, 2026 at Breck High School, 123 Ottawa Ave N, Golden Valley, MN 55422.

State Competition: February 28-March 1, 2026, at Shakopee High School, 100 17th Ave W, Shakopee, MN 55379
